ODBC Driver for AIX Installation Instructions<\/h2>\n

\nNotes<\/p>\n

For DSN management and testing, Minisoft recommends the installation of an ODBC Driver Manager. We have found that unixODBC 2.2.7 or later <http:\/\/www.unixodbc.org<\/span><\/span><\/a>>, is able to fill this role.<\/p>\n

The location of the odbcinst.ini and odbc.ini files are based upon the Driver Manager you use. If you do not have a Driver Manger installed, create the odbcinst.ini and odbc.ini files in the \/etc directory.<\/p>\n

Driver<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Place all files in the \/opt\/minisoft directory. (the directories should be mode 755)<\/li>\n
  2. Use “config3kodbc.exe” to set the information from mscard.ini into you odbc.ini file. The database and password information for your HP3000 are encoded into the odbc.ini file and cannot be (easily) added with a text editor.\u00a0 This application (config3kodbc.exe) reads a ini file and encodes the information into the odbc.ini file.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To install mscard as a User DSN: config3kodbc.exe -i -u -f mscard.ini<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    license.exe<\/p>\n

    Please report the value from this utility so that a License Number can be generated for your system. The license information will be stored on the system used as the ODBC Server for this client.<\/p>\n

    Place license.exe in the directory “\/opt\/minisoft”. When run, it should display the System ID and System Name:<\/p>\n
