WorldShip<\/a>\u00ae is a multi-carrier shipping software solution which outputs labels in Zebra Printer Language (ZPL) format.<\/p>\n

Best Practices<\/h1>\n

Of the\u00a0four main integration options<\/a>\u00a0for eFORMz,\u00a0virtual printer<\/strong>\u00a0is the recommended method for capturing WorldShip application output. This requires the following:<\/p>\n

\u201cAdd eFORMz as a new printer in your software application. Your application prints to the eFORMz virtual printer, which captures the print stream as a file. eFORMz combines and formats the file, possibly with data from additional sources for output to a thermal or laser printer.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Zebra Printer Install<\/h2>\n

For readable ZPL to be received, users must download and install the proper UPS zebra driver. A package of all UPS zebra drivers can be downloaded from here:
\nhttps:\/\/filexfer.ups.com\/pub\/drivers\/UPSZebraDriver.exe<\/a><\/p>\n

The driver we’ve had the most success with is “Zebra ZP 450-200dpi”. This should allow for the Generic Thermal Printer checkbox to be checked in the printer setup window of WorldShip.<\/p>\n

Unzip the files into a desired folder directory (Example Drivers)<\/p>\n

The files will look like this.<\/p>\n

Go to Printer Properties->Advanced Tab->New Driver…<\/p>\n

Select Have Disk…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Select the “ZBRN.inf” Example “C:\\Drivers\\UPS_5_1_7_certified_w10\\ZBRN\\ZBRN.inf”<\/p>\n

Install From Disk and select the ZBRN.inf file.<\/p>\n

WorldShip Settings<\/h2>\n

Please ensure that the format of the label is NOT<\/strong> set to GDI<\/strong>. GDI is an image format and results in data that is unable to be extracted from eFORMz.<\/p>\n

Some printers will give a checkbox option for generic thermal printer<\/strong>. Please ensure that is enabled\u00a0<\/strong>if provided.<\/p>\n

Here is an example of what a correct format could look like in WorldShip. Notice there is no GDI in that format.<\/p>\n

Windows<\/h2>\n

For\u00a0WorldShip users running locally (on Windows), the integration process would require\u00a0setting up the eFORMz Port Monitor<\/a>\u00a0and adding eFORMz as a new printer in WorldShip.\u00a0Since the\u00a0print jobs are local, no\u00a0LPD is required. Once this is configured, run the process and\u00a0use any test files sent from WorldShip to the selected input folder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Next,\u00a0set up the eFORMz Port Monitor<\/a>\u00a0and add eFORMz as a new printer in WorldShip.\u00a0Once this is configured, run the process and\u00a0use any test files sent from WorldShip to the selected input folder<\/a>.<\/p>\n
